Lansing, MI (Oct. 1, 2024)\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 \u00a0The Michigan Laborers\u2019 District Council (MLDC) is proud to welcome its new Business Manager, Brent Pilarski. Brent was appointed to the position by the MLDC Executive Board, succeeding Geno Alessandrini Sr., who served as Business Manager for the last 14 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to have Brent take on this new role as Business Manager of the Michigan Laborers\u2019 District Council,\u201d said Geno Alessandrini, Sr. \u201cHis decades of experience and passion for the labor movement will be invaluable as we continue to support our members and advocate for their rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Brent steps into his new role, he expressed his excitement about the opportunity to serve LIUNA members across Michigan: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am honored to be taking on the role of Business Manager for the Michigan Laborers\u2019 District Council,\u201d said Pilarski. \u201cOur union has a proud tradition of fighting for workers\u2019 rights, and I am committed to continuing that legacy. Together, we will focus on ensuring good jobs, benefits, and top-tier training opportunities for our members. I\u2019m looking forward to working alongside our talented leadership team and dedicated members to build a stronger future for laborers across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, Brent signed up for Laborers Local 1098 out of Saginaw on February 27, 1994, and began working on pipelines for Henkels and McCoy. He later pursued higher education at Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in accounting in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1999, Brent furthered his career with the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) as an auditor. He returned to Michigan in August 2007 to serve as an International Union Representative and was appointed Business Manager of Laborers Local 1098 in October 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, Brent has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the livelihoods of laborers throughout Michigan. His strong relationships with contractors and dedication to supporting union members have solidified his reputation as a trusted and effective leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Business Manager, Brent will lead efforts to provide good jobs, training, benefits, and support to laborers across Michigan, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of the construction and building trades industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
